Micro-Macro

Places and objects
I'm still really interested in the Kane street area (where the foot bridge is near north). I am most interested in this lace because of all the memories I have here. Whenever I am in this area I can think of different times in my life whereI have came here and developed asa person and an artist. Especially because my first three years in Milwaukee I loved very close to this place is has a personal meaning to me. It is a beautiful natures part of milwaukee and you can always find snakes in the grass. The object that I would choose to represent this is a house plant in a pot. because, house plants are pieces of nature that you but into your non-natuted home to make is feel more in touch/ surrounded by plants. I feel like this space is being perceived because people in the city still want to feel in touch with nature. so just like people put house plants in their home to feel nature people also preserve it in the city to feel nature.

The object that I most cherish as a keep sake is a little g
old wizard. The only item my grandpa (Papa) has ever given me. he was cleaning out his house and he gave it to me behind everyones back and told me it was very special. I was only ten when I received it but it remains to be one of the items I will always hang on too. A place in milwaukee that can describe that feeling would probably have to be the bradford beach. And not because of any day time experience I have had there. But the preciseness of moments I have had there when its the idle of winter at one am. Like taking blankets and computers out there just to be on the beach for the sake of being on the beach. because the beach equals happiness just like gold supposably makes people happy. The gift from my grandpa means a lot to me just like those random moments on the beach mean a lot to me. because going to the beach at winter at one am will probally never happen again to me, so i treasure that moment just like I treasure the act of my Papa giving me this gold man.

Intervention

For this I decided to target the issue of trash in the river west. I feel like this is a really good hearted community of people for the most part so it really bugs me when I see cigarette packs and beer cans all over my street. So I walked down Weil (my street) from the start outside the Bar to the end. I picked up every little bit of trash and then piled it at the end of the road so that people can reflect on how there one cigarette pack tossed on the group or candy wrapper adds up to a bugger sense of garbage.
I came across three people while doing this. The first girl just smiled and then I told the two men I was doing an intervention and they just smiled.

The place where I put the Trash is right across the street from a bar, Nesa Dorma. So i think people will see it because of location and because Weil is close to locust and Humboldt many people probably walk by there. And people that are littering in this area are probably people that are out on the weekends so hopefully it stays up until then.

All clean now!
